Followscript

Terms of Use

In force from 4 September 2026. Last updated 11 September 2026.

The short version: Followscript is yours to use for anything, what you record is yours with no watermark and no licence to us, Pro is a subscription you cancel in Google Play, and an account is optional — without one we hold nothing of yours at all, and with one we hold only the text of the scripts you chose to sync.

1. This agreement, and who it is with

These Terms of Use are the agreement between you and Ilya Yarshou, sole trader, Jana Piltza 42/5, 30-392 Krakow, Poland, NIP 6762498757, REGON 542473948 (referred to here as we, us or Followscript), covering the Followscript Android application, the browser version of the prompter at followscript.com/app, and the followscript.com website.

You accept them by installing or using the app, or by using the browser version. If you do not accept them, do not install it and do not use it — and if you have installed it, uninstalling it ends this agreement.

Our Privacy Policy forms part of this agreement. Google Play's own terms apply to the distribution of the app and to any purchase, alongside these terms.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have as a consumer that your own law says cannot be limited. Where a clause here conflicts with such a right, that right wins and the rest of these terms continue to apply.

2. Who may use Followscript

You must be at least 18 years old, or older where the law that applies to you sets a higher age of majority. Followscript is not offered to anyone younger, and there is no arrangement by which a parent or guardian can accept these terms on someone else's behalf.

You must not use Followscript if you are barred from doing so by the law that applies to you, or if you are located in a country subject to sanctions that would make providing it to you unlawful.

3. What you are allowed to do

We grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Followscript on devices you own or control, for any purpose — personal, professional or commercial. Video you make with Followscript is yours to publish, sell or broadcast, with no licence fee, no attribution requirement and no watermark, on the free tier as well as on Pro.

The app itself, its name, its design and its code remain ours. This licence gives you the right to use the software, not ownership of it.

4. What you must not do

You agree not to:

  • copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app itself;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except to the extent that the law expressly permits you to do so despite this restriction — which in the European Union it does, for interoperability, under Article 6 of Directive 2009/24/EC;
  • circumvent or tamper with the checks that separate the free tier from Pro, or use Followscript Pro without paying for it;
  • remove or alter any notice of ownership;
  • use Followscript to produce material that is unlawful where you are, that infringes someone else's rights, or that is designed to deceive people about who is speaking;
  • use it in a way that interferes with the app working for anyone else, or that attacks our website;
  • share your account credentials, use somebody else's, or try to reach another person's scripts;
  • automate access to the synchronisation service beyond what the app and the browser version do themselves, or use it as general-purpose storage for material that is not a script.

5. Your account, your scripts and your recordings

Everything you write and record stays yours. We claim no licence over it. We do not read it, publish it, train anything on it, or show it to anybody.

An account is optional

Followscript works without one, and without one nothing you write or record reaches us at all. An account exists for one purpose: so a script written in one place can be read in another. It carries the text of your scripts and nothing else.

You need an account to buy or use a subscription, because a subscription has to follow a person rather than a handset. An account is made by signing in with Google and no other way, so the credential that protects it is your Google account, and keeping that safe is between you and Google. Tell us at support@followscript.com if you think somebody else is in your account: we can end every session it has, immediately.

You may delete your account at any time, from the app, from the browser, or at followscript.com/account-deletion. Doing so deletes every script we hold for it. It does not touch the copies on your own devices, and it does not by itself cancel a Google Play subscription — cancel that in Google Play.

We may close an account that is used to break section 4, after telling you why and, where the problem can be put right, giving you a fair chance to put it right.

Your recordings are never part of any of this

What you record never leaves your device, with an account or without one. There is no setting that changes it.

We are not a backup

It is fair to be blunt about this. If you lose your device, wipe it, or uninstall the app, anything held only there is gone. An account is a way to have your scripts in two places; it is not a backup service, it carries no version history, and it holds nothing else. Export takes you care about.

You are responsible for having the right to use the text you put into Followscript, and for what you do with the video you make.

6. The free tier and Followscript Pro

The free tier is meant to be used rather than endured. It records at 720p with sound, guides by voice in every mode, imports and edits scripts, keeps your takes, and puts no watermark on your video. A take on the free tier is limited to one minute, with a warning ten seconds before the end.

Followscript Pro removes the time limit, lets you choose 720p, 1080p or 4K, and unlocks the floating prompter over other apps. It is offered as a subscription:

  • Pro, monthly — USD 6.99, renewing every month until cancelled.
  • Pro, yearly — USD 49.99, renewing every year until cancelled. Prices are shown in United States dollars. Google Play converts them to your currency and adds or includes tax according to where you are; the amount Google shows you at the moment of purchase is the amount that binds. Prices may change for future billing periods, and Google Play will tell you before a changed price is charged, giving you the chance to cancel first. We may add features to the free tier or to Pro. We will not move a feature out of the free tier and behind Pro for someone who already relies on it without giving notice in the app first.

7. Payment, renewal and cancellation

All purchases are made through Google Play, which processes the payment. In the European Economic Area, Google is the seller of record. We never see your card or your bank details.

A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours beforehand. You cancel in Google Play — Play Store, Profile, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions — not in the app and not by writing to us, because only Google can stop the billing it operates.

When a subscription ends, Pro features stop and the free tier limits apply again. Nothing you have already recorded is deleted, locked or degraded. Takes you shot at 4K stay at 4K, and takes longer than one minute stay whole. You keep your scripts and your library.

If a payment fails, Google may retry it and may pause your access until it succeeds.

8. Refunds and the right to change your mind

Because Google Play takes the payment, refunds are handled by Google under the Google Play refund policy. Google also operates its own 48-hour refund window for app purchases. Ask Google first: it is faster, and it is the only party that can return money it took.

Beyond that, you keep every statutory right you have where you live. In particular:

European Economic Area and the United Kingdom

You have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason. For digital content supplied immediately, that right ends once supply has begun with your express prior consent and your acknowledgement that you thereby lose it — which is what you give when you confirm a purchase that unlocks Pro straight away. Where you have not yet had that supply, the right stands and Google will refund you.

Brazil

Under Article 49 of the Codigo de Defesa do Consumidor you may withdraw from a purchase made outside a physical shop within seven days of the contract or of receiving the product, and be refunded in full, including anything already paid, with monetary correction. Nothing in these terms limits that.

Mexico

Your rights under the Ley Federal de Proteccion al Consumidor, including those concerning distance contracts, apply in full and are not restricted by these terms.

United States

Refunds follow the Google Play policy and any right your state gives you. Californian subscribers are reminded that a subscription bought through Google Play is cancelled in Google Play, and that Google provides the cancellation mechanism required by law.

If Google declines a refund you believe you are owed, write to support@followscript.com with your order number and we will look at it ourselves.

9. Availability, devices and changes to the app

Followscript requires Android 8.0 or later, a working camera and microphone, and enough free storage for what you record. Voice following depends on the speech recognition service your phone provides, and how well it works varies between devices, languages and how much background noise there is. Voice following is a best-effort feature and cannot be guaranteed to recognise every word.

The application is currently distributed on Google Play in the European Union only, and within it not in Germany or France. This is a commercial and regulatory decision and may change. Where the application is not offered to you, the followscript.com website remains available worldwide.

We may update, change or discontinue features, and may stop supporting older Android versions. If we discontinue Followscript altogether, we will give notice in the app where we reasonably can, stop charging subscriptions, and — because your material lives on your device — leave what you have recorded exactly where it is. We would give at least 30 days' notice before switching off synchronisation, so that anything held only on the server can be brought back down to a device first.

The browser version and advertising. The browser version is free and available worldwide, and it carries no advertising at all — not in the library, not in the editor, and not on the prompter. Advertising appears only beside the articles on this website, it loads only after you consent to it, and declining costs you no functionality. The Android application contains no advertising either.

10. What we promise, and what we do not

We provide Followscript with reasonable skill and care, and we take seriously the one failure that costs you most: a recording that is lost. The app finalises a take when it can, warns you when a recording was interrupted, and tells you honestly when a file cannot be saved.

Beyond that, and to the fullest extent the law allows, Followscript is provided as is, without any warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that voice following will keep pace with every speaker, that any given device will record at every resolution it advertises, or that a recording will survive a failure of the device, the storage or the operating system.

If you are a consumer, this section does not exclude the legal guarantee of conformity that your law gives you — including under the EU Digital Content Directive, the Polish Civil Code, the Brazilian Consumer Code and comparable state and federal law in the United States. Where such a guarantee applies, you may require the app to be brought into conformity, and the remedies your law gives you remain available.

11. Limits on liability

We are liable to you for damage we cause you deliberately, by gross negligence, or through death or personal injury, and for anything else that the law says we cannot exclude. Nothing below limits that.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost opportunity, lost audience, or the cost of reshooting; and our total liability arising out of or in connection with Followscript is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event and USD 50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limits of this kind, and where yours does not, they do not apply to you.

12. Ending this agreement

You end it by uninstalling the app and, if you have one, deleting your account. Cancel any subscription in Google Play first, or it will keep renewing — deleting an account does not cancel a Play subscription, because only Google can do that.

We may end it, or suspend your access to Pro, if you materially breach these terms — in particular by circumventing the paid tier or by using the app unlawfully. We will tell you why, and where the breach can be put right we will give you a reasonable chance to put it right first. If we end this agreement for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused part of a subscription you have already paid for.

13. Governing law and where disputes go

This agreement is governed by Polish law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you habitually reside, as Article 6 of the Rome I Regulation provides. You may bring proceedings in the courts of your own country, and we will bring any proceedings against you there.

If you are not a consumer, the courts of Krakow, Poland have exclusive jurisdiction.

Before any of that, write to support@followscript.com. Almost everything can be settled that way, and we would rather settle it than litigate it.

14. The rest

  • Changes. We may amend these terms. Material changes are announced in the app before they take effect, and for a subscription the changed terms apply from the next billing period; if you do not accept them, cancel before it begins.
  • Severability. If a clause is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force and the unenforceable clause is read down to what is enforceable.
  • No waiver. Not enforcing a right on one occasion does not give it up.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer this agreement. We may transfer it as part of a sale of the business, and will tell you if we do.
  • Entire agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Followscript.
  • Language. Drafted in English. Translations are provided so you can read this in your own language; where a translation and the English text differ, the English text governs, except where your consumer law says otherwise.
